Client Appreciation Event 2020

Client Appreciation Event 2020

On Thursday, September 17th, 2020 we will host a client appreciation event. Our event will begin at 4 p.m PT where the Lake Tahoe Wealth Management Team will be joined by Dimensional Fund Advisors, Dr. Apollo Lupescu, for a discussion about market conditions, our outlook, and the related planning opportunities.

Dr. Lupescu is vice president at Dimensional Fund Advisors, one of the premier investment managers in the world. In his role he is responsible for communicating Dimensional’s academic foundations and investment beliefs to financial professionals and individual investors across the world. He is considered the “secretary of explaining stuff”, because he excels at delivering thought provoking presentations in a clear and understandable way.

Apollo has been with Dimensional for over 16 years, and prior to that taught at University of California and he also had his own consulting firm. Apollo received his PhD in economics and finance from UC Santa Barbara. He holds a BA in economics from Michigan State University, where he competed and coached water polo.

Immediately following we'll experience the wines of one of the Sierra Foothill’s oldest family wineries, Madroña Vineyards. Paul Bush, winemaker and owner, will take you through the history and passion of Madroña with an interactive tasting of his high-elevation, Estate Grown wines. Savor the region while learning what makes mountain-grown wines so unique with tastes in your own home of Madroña’s 2019 Hillside Chardonnay and 2017 Signature Quintet (Bordeaux blend). Ask questions, build your knowledge, and experience something truly special!

Madroña Vineyards is boutique family-operated winery nestled in the heart of the El Dorado appellation of the Sierra Foothills. The Bush family, considered pioneers of high elevation grape-growing in California, planted their first 32-acre vineyard in 1973. This single planting helped build up the renaissance of vineyards and wine through the 1970’s and 80’s of this historical wine region.

With the transition to the next generation of grape growers and winemakers, Paul and Maggie Bush took the reins in 1999. The philosophy of making wines that are pure reflections of this unique mountain terroir and cool climate drives the creativity and traditional characters embraced in each variety.

Now with 85 acres of naturally-farmed (no herbicides, all organic products) vines, all within the 2800-3000 foot elevation, Paul and Maggie embrace their 100% Estate Grown wines as expressions not only of the region, but also expressions of their passion for showcasing the exciting aspects of one of California’s oldest growing regions.

Older vines, family passion, and almost 50 years of experience has come together to produce something truly special in the wine world. It’s no wonder that in 2018, The Lonely Planet Guide to wine recommended Madroña Vineyards as the top winery from the highest ranked wine region in California to visit. Estate-grown history in the making!
